SMART Recovery is the leading self-empowering addiction recovery support group. Reborn has established partnerships with other agencies to provide continuing care and support to clients in all phases of their recovery journey. Our participants learn tools for addiction recovery based on the latest scientific research and participate in a world-wide community which includes free, self-empowering, science-based mutual help groups.

Reborn has established partnerships with other agencies to provide continuing care and support to clients in all phases of their recovery journey. SMART Recovery is the leading self-empowering support group. Our participants learn tools for many of life’s challenges, on the latest scientific research and participate in a world-wide community which includes free, self-empowering, science-based mutual help groups. Residents of our program are required to attend 12 SMART recovery classes and complete assigned homework.

We teach common sense self-help procedures designed to empower you to develop a more positive lifestyle. To help you reverse your self-destructive behavior, we use a cognitive-behavioral (thinking/doing) psychotherapy called REBT which stands for Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. According to REBT, your thinking creates your feelings and leads you to act. SMART Recovery is a mental health and educational program, focused on changing human behavior. SMART Recovery meetings are serious but often fun.

In SMART Recovery we emphasize:

(1) Enhancing motivation

(2) Refusing to act on urges

(3) Managing life’s problems in a sensible and effective way; and

(4) Developing a positive, balanced, and healthy lifestyle.

We utilize on site drug and alcohol screening to encourage a safe environment. Reborn Assistance has a policy of 100% sobriety, anybody found to be actively abusing drugs or alcohol is asked to leave the program and is provided with certain conditions which must be met in order to reenter the program.

Intake Process

Prior to starting our program, all of our residents must pass a drug test and breathalyzer, complete background check, mental health analysis, and phone interview. We require that no prior convictions relating to arson and sex crimes be present, and ask for a 90 day commitment for each recovery program. All of our residents are asked to work to pay their fees in the program, to ensure that Reborn can continue working toward recovery for our residents.
